The 1st ever All-Star Women’s Basketball Tournament was held on Easter Saturday. It was a magnificent display of 88 women ranging from 15 years old to 50+ competing to the best of their ability.
We had two streams of competitors, A Grade and B grade with the former consisting of experienced players and the latter for women who are beginners or intermediates. It was a fierce and exciting day for both the spectators and players as the tournament was under way.
Above all this day was meant for women spread across all over Melbourne to get to know one another in a safe and supportive space. Players introduced themselves to their opponents before matches, cementing the idea that the day was about more than just basketball, but about forging a sense of sisterhood and unity and we think we did just that!
A massive congratulations goes to the winners and runner-ups of the tournament.
